Maurice (Moe) Russell
Moe is the co-founder of Russell Consulting Group, a leading provider of marketing and financial advice to crop and livestock producers. Moe is a frequent business speaker on motivation, planning and entrepreneurship, and he writes a monthly column for Farm Journal magazine.
Prior to starting Russell Consulting, he spent 26 years with Farm Credit Services and led the branch lending division, where he was responsible for 82 lending offices in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Moe has consulted globally in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, the Middle East and South Africa. He is also was on the faculty of the “The Executive Program for Agricultural Producers” (TEPAP) program at Texas A & M University.
Moe holds a degree in agricultural business from Iowa State University and an Executive MBA degree from University of Nebraska at Omaha. He grew up on a diversified grain and livestock farm near Monticello, Iowa, and is still involved in production agriculture.
Kent is the marketing manager for Russell Consulting where he focuses on analyzing the commodity and financial markets to deliver regular teleconferences and the weekly e-newsletter to clients. He is routinely contacted by the ag press for market comments and leads marketing seminars to client groups, as well as industry association meetings.
Prior to joining Russell Consulting, Kent was a market analyst with CHS Hedging, the commodity brokerage subsidiary of leading farmer-owned cooperative, CHS Inc. There, he worked with commercial agribusinesses and individual producers delivering futures and basis analysis, over-the-counter (OTC) derivative programs, and managed futures programs.
He began his agribusiness career in 1985 with the Minneapolis Grain Exchange and joined CHS in 1986 to work in the cash wheat, durum and barley markets.
Kent received his degree in agricultural business administration from the University of Minnesota. He holds a Series 3 license and is a registered associate with the National Futures Association.
